The Stettler District Ambulance Association is participating in Accreditation Canada's Qmentum accreditation program. Accreditation Canada is an independent, not-for-profit organization that sets standards for quality and safety in health care and accredits health organizations in Canada and around the world.
As part of the Qmentum accreditation program, the Stettler District Ambulance Association has gone through a rigorous evaluation process. Following a comprehensive self-assessment, external peer surveyors conducted an on-site survey during which they assessed leadership, governance, clinical programs and services against Accreditation Canada requirements for quality and safety. These requirements include national standards of excellence; required safety practices to reduce potential harm; and questionnaires to assess the work environment, patient safety culture, governance functioning and client experience.
The Accreditation Decision Committee has reviewed the results of our on-site survey and was pleased to inform us that, the Stettler District Ambulance Association has been issued an Accreditation Primer Award. The Stettler District Ambulance Association was commended on its commitment to using accreditation to improve the quality and safety of the service it offers to its clients and its community.
The Stettler District Ambulance Association has met the requirements of the Qmentum accreditation program and has shown a commitment to quality improvement. We are accredited until November 2020 provided program requirements continue to be met.
The Stettler District Ambulance Association is participating in the Accreditation Canada Qmentum Program. Qmentum helps organizations strengthen their quality improvement efforts by identifying what they are doing well and where improvements are needed.
Organizations that become accredited by Accreditation Canada do so as a mark of pride and as a way to create a strong and sustainable culture of quality and safety.
Accreditation Canada commended the Stettler District Ambulance Association for its ongoing work to integrate accreditation into its operations to improve the quality and safety of its programs and services.
Accreditation Decision Upgraded in 2017
The Accreditation Decision Committee has reviewed the evidence submitted by Stettler District Ambulance Association in November 2016 as a follow-up to our recent accreditation decision.
As a result of this review, we are pleased to announce that the decision awarded to Stettler District Ambulance Association has been changed to Accredited with Commendation.
This achievement demonstrates our organization's determination and commitment to ongoing quality improvement. We applaud our leadership, staff and board members for their efforts and dedication to the provision of safe, quality health services.
