On November 15, the staff of Stettler District Ambulance participated in The Professional Driver Improvement Course offered by Canada Safety Council.  Brian McMeekin is one of our full time paramedics who is a certified instructor for this course.

The course is designed to help our practitioners become better drivers.  It enhances our image by teaching the techniques of defensive driving and promoting a positive attitude towards the task of driving as a professional.  It enables our staff to better avoid the problems other road users create.

This is the only driving course that is approved federally and provincially.  It is a requirement of staff to become recertified every two years to meet the requirements of Accreditation Canada, Alberta Health and Wellness, Alberta Health Services and the Highway and Traffic Safety Act.
